Chris Durkin receives United States under-17 call-up

D.C. United homegrown player Chris Durkin was named as part of a group of 24 United States players by coach John Hackworth to a training camp in Utah beginning Sunday and running through August 22, ahead of the Torneo Nacionales de Mexico in Mexico City. The USA will play Portugal August 25 and Qatar on August 26 and host Mexico on August 28.

Durkin joins Andrew Carleton of Atlanta United as the only other homegrown signing among the camp roster. Among the MLS Academies represented are Atlanta (4 players), the LA Galaxy, Toronto FC, the Philadelphia Union, FC Dallas and the Portland Timbers.
