Bobby Boswell’s stoppage-time header give D.C. United a 2-2 tie at Chicago

D.C. United needs victories, not draws. But the manner in which the club is earning single points will ease the pain of missed opportunities on the road.

Six days after a two-goal uprising in the waning moments in New Jersey, captain Bobby Boswell scored late in stoppage time as United claimed a 2-2 tie with the Chicago Fire before an announced 13,807 at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, Ill.

With six weeks left in the regular season, United (7-9-13) drew even with Orlando City for the sixth and final playoff spot in MLS’s Eastern Conference (though the Florida club has played one fewer match).
