FIFA, soccer’s international governing body, said Wednesday that it will begin bestowing an annual peace prize.

The inaugural award will be presented to an as-yet-unnamed honoree at the draw next month for the 2026 men’s World Cup, which will be hosted by the United States, Mexico and Canada.
