Another missed penalty costs D.C. United in 1-0 loss to Philadelphia Union

D.C. United couldn’t build upon the success of a midweek win, losing 1-0 to the Philadelphia Union on a first half goal from Fafa Picault. Lamar Neagle had a chance to equalize in the second half from the penalty spot, but his shot was saved by Union keeper Andre Blake.

Luciano Acosta also received a red card from referee Sorin Stoica in the second half, but by the time the dust settled from the incident, the card was taken away, and Acosta remained on the field, not collecting even a yellow card for what transpired between him and Haris Medunjanin.
