With shades of Bill Belichick and John Wooden, Ken Hitchcok is trying to build the Stars 'the right way'

Three guys are watching hockey practice -- and laughing.

Not the guffaws you might hear at a viewing of Slapshot, but more the bemused chortles and giggles that come from the remembrance of a better time. The three 50-somethings are Stars broadcasters Daryl Reaugh, Craig Ludwig and Brent Severyn, and each has played for new/old coach Ken Hitchcock in the past. So when Hitchcock started running his practices in training camp, the old guys simply broke out in laughter.

"You saw us, we were all getting excited," Severyn said. "It was funny that we all reacted the same way, but I think it was because we know that it works.
