Why depth scoring is important for Stars going forward if they want to consistently win

The Stars scored seven goals Saturday in Buffalo, and Tyler Seguin didn't have a point.

And if you ask Ken Hitchcock, that can be a good thing.

The Stars coach said his team's scoring depth is starting to step up, and that's encouraging. Mattias Janmark had two goals Saturday and now has 12 this season. Radek Faksa scored a goal and also has 12. Tyler Pitlick scored his eighth goal. Dallas needs that depth if it's going to win consistently.

"Seguin's line opens up space for other people, and we've got to take advantage of space they open up," Hitchcock said.
