ST. LOUIS -- The Stars could advance to the Western Conference final with a win in Game 7 over the Blues, but would give up a first-round pick in the process.
As part of the trade to acquire Mats Zuccarello in February, a Dallas trip to the Western Conference Final would mean the 2019 second-round pick they promised the Rangers becomes 2019's first-round pick. If the Stars re-sign the pending unrestricted free agent, the 2020 third-round pick becomes a 2020 first-round pick.
Zuccarello has been creative since joining the Stars at the end of February, despite missing about five weeks with a broken arm suffered in his first game with Dallas.
