It wasn't just that Ken Hitchcock moved one win closer to second place all-time in NHL history with his 800th career victory Thursday night, it was how his team accomplished that task.
Dallas played flawless Hitchcock hockey and took a 4-0 win over the Chicago Blackhawks, coached by Joel Quenneville, who is second in NHL history in wins at 868. But while the milestone was nice for Hitchcock, the win had as much meaning for his new/old team.
Stars beat the Blackhawks AND Ken Hitchcock gets his 800th career victory! Congrats, Hitch! #GoStars pic.
