The Dallas Stars’ Mattias Janmark, Devin Shore, and Gemel Smith have all elected for salary arbitration. The three restricted free agents had to file for arbitration today. The move notifies teams that the player has elected to go this route.
Salary arbitration hearings are expected to be scheduled between July 20th and August 4th, and the hearings will be held in Toronto.
The team and player can continue to negotiate a new contract between now and the salary arbitration hearing. Many contracts are signed before the hearing is conducted at all.
