VANCOUVER - Esa Lindell thinks we've got it all wrong.
He isn't making incredible steps to become one of the Stars' top defensemen in just his second season, he's taking the proper path on a career that started when the Stars drafted him 74th overall in 2012.
"They gave me a lot of time before I got here and I think that helped a lot, and I thank them for that," said Lindell. "They let me go back to Finland, and that helped, and then playing in the AHL, that was huge. It might seem fast to you, but it has taken a long time for me.
