The consistently inconsistent Dallas Stars outdo themselves in 5-4 loss to Minnesota

The consistently inconsistent Stars might have outdone themselves Saturday.

A team that has battled to gain traction all season dug itself a 4-0 hole in the first period, rallied back to tie the game in the third period, and then lost 5-4 to the Minnesota Wild at American Airlines Center.

The game featured one goaltender playing poorly (Antti Niemi) and one goaltender playing well (Kari Lehtonen). It had top skill players who were good (John Klingberg with a goal and two assists) and top skill players who were not (Jason Spezza minus-two in 13:20 of ice time), as well as the typical scattering of good plays and bad plays for everyone.
