The Iowa Wild once again proved to be the Texas Stars’ nemesis this season as they pushed their way to a 4-1 victory Tuesday night at Casey’s Center.
The Wild cashed in twice off some costly Texas penalties while rookie goaltender Riley Mercer stopped 28 of Texas’ 29 shots to earn their fourth victory in four games against the Stars, who are only three points above Iowa for last place in the Central Division.
Artem Shlaine scored his ninth goal of the season in the second period to take over the team lead in goals.
