ANAHEIM, Calif. -- During the first period of the Stars' 6-3 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Wednesday night, Ben Bishop was faced with a choice.
The puck slid toward him through the left circle, and Stars defenseman Joel Hanley tried to hold off a driving Kiefer Sherwood, so Bishop left his crease to play the puck. He could slap it off the boards. He could poke it out of the zone. He could smother it and stop play. He eschewed those options, instead choosing to flip the puck between his legs toward the open net, where Hanley helped save a goal.
