RALEIGH, N.C. -- That's not how the Stars wanted to start their road trip.
The Stars played the Carolina Hurricanes even through two periods Monday night, and then Teuvo Teravainen happened.
A hat trick by Teravainen in third period gave the Hurricanes a 5-1 win and left the Stars frustrated by their weak finish. Their road trip continues Tuesday night in Florida against the Panthers.
"We had the game right there, and we cracked," coach Ken Hitchcock said. "Bottom line is we were in a great position on the road -- exactly where you want to be -- and we were the ones that made the mistakes.
