Stars remain focused on defensemen in Day 2 of NHL draft; finish with smallest draft class since 1968

The Stars spent much of the second day of the NHL draft like they spent the first one: adding defensemen to their prospect pool.

Dallas -- which only had three picks in in the final six rounds of the draft due to three in-season trades -- selected two more left-handed defensemen to go with first-round pick Thomas Harley. The Stars picked Samuel Sjolund at No. 111 in the fourth round and Ben Brinkman at No. 173 in the sixth round. Nicholas Porco was the only forward Dallas drafted this year at No. 142 in the fifth round.

The four draft picks were the fewest for the Stars since 1968, when the draft was only three rounds long.
