For the first time under coach Jim Montgomery, Stars forward Jason Spezza will be a healthy scratch Tuesday night against Florida.
Spezza, who has eight goals and 19 assists in 70 games this season, hasn't scored in his last 10 games and had been relegated to a fourth-line role in the Dallas forward group. Spezza was a healthy scratch once under former coach Ken Hitchcock last season, and responded by scoring two goals the next game.
"I just told him that we're doing what we think is best for the team tonight," Montgomery said.
Spezza, 35, has seen his ice time dwindle in recent weeks and played a season-low 7:49 during Sunday night's shootout loss to Vancouver.
