Stars End Flyers Win Streak By Stifling Their Offense

Today’s matinee match-up versus the Philadelphia Flyers gave Dallas Stars fans a glimpse of the play of last season’s Stars team. From the start of the game, the two teams engaged in a speedy north-south game, trading chances and saves.

A defensive coverage issue by John Klingberg on Antti Niemi’s doorstep gave the Flyers a chance to take the lead late in the first period. The Stars didn’t have a lot of response after the goal.

So Jason Spezza came out and did this in the early part of the second period:
