If the Stars were focused on a better start to their games, they certainly had one Thursday night.
Up against the high-scoring Anaheim Ducks, Dallas flipped the script. Instead of going down two in the first period, forward Wyatt Johnston knocked two pucks in two power plays to give the Stars the lead early in the game.
But the Ducks had other plans.
Not to be outdone, Anaheim entered the second period swinging. Within three minutes, the Ducks’ evened the score after a power play goal from forward Chris Kreider and a five-on-five goal from defenseman Ian Moore — his first ever in the NHL.
