CHICAGO -- The Stars have gone through duct tape, crazy glue and FlexSeal this season trying to hold together a fractured lineup, and got down to chewing gum Sunday at United Center.
With six forwards out of the lineup because of injury or illness, Dallas moved defenseman Patrik Nemeth to the wing and hoped for the best. They got it in the form of Nemeth's three shots on goal in 7:25 of ice time, but didn't get it in the form of a 4-3 overtime loss to the Chicago Blackhawks.
It was a gritty, gutty performance against one of the hottest teams in the NHL, but it was also just another loss for a Stars team that has one victory in its last six games and has fallen to 4-5-3 on the season.
