The short holiday break proved to be prominent early on as both teams seemed to just be shaking out their legs, and getting into the flow of things through the early parts of the first. So a somewhat slower first period of play, where we saw each side just trying to control the puck and get some movement going.
Devin Shore gets a shot on but it is blocked away by Alex Stalock, and it was Esa Lindell finding the puck. He was able to get it over to Tyler Seguin in the slot and Seguin puts it away to take the 1-0 lead.
