Allen, Texas – The Allen Americans dropped Game 1 of the series with Rapid City tonight, 4-2, as the Rush held off a late Allen charge, sealing the victory on an empty netter late in the third period to steal Game 1.
Cody Ferriero, opened the scoring for the Rush, 11:53 into the opening period, scoring his 4th of the post-season on the power play to give Rapid a 1-0 lead. Allen would tie the score with 2:03 left in the first, when Gary Steffes poked one home on a Chris Crane pass to make it a 1-1 game after 20 minutes of play.
