Oettinger's Strong Game Spoiled in Stars 2-1 Shootout Loss in Milwaukee

In the first of eight regular season matchups against the Milwaukee Admirals, the Texas Stars couldn’t find the game winning goal falling in a 2-1 shootout decision. Rookie goaltender Jake Oettinger turned in a strong performance with 34 saves on 35 shots though he was beaten twice in a six round shootout competition.

Oettinger’s only real blemish, if you can call it that, came with about four minutes left in the opening period. With traffic in front of the net, he couldn’t quite pin the puck with his glove and Milwaukee forward Laurent Dauphin poked it through the five hole.
