The Stars' young defensemen aren't that young anymore.
Sure, Esa Lindell is second on the team in time on ice at age 22 and John Klingberg has already surpassed 200 NHL games at age 24, but the Stars have been waiting on a trio of young defensemen for a couple of years, and the clock seems to be ticking on them.
Patrik Nemeth just turned 25. Stephen Johns will be 25 in June. Jamie Oleksiak will turn 25 in December. All three are battling for a place in the Stars' defense going forward and are using the end of the season as a proving ground.
