The Stars tried to give away a couple of crucial points Thursday, but the fact they didn't might be even more important than just a boring ol' win.
Dallas nearly self-destructed in the first period, handing our four power plays to the league's worst man advantage and watched the Detroit Red Wings score only their third road power play goal of the season, their first since Oct. 19.
But while that start could have led to a horrible unraveling at American Airlines Center, the Stars rallied for a 5-2 win over the Red Wings and restored some faith in the sellout crowd.
