NEW YORK -- The perfection of Kari Lehtonen's 300th career win is that it came in such a strong team performance.
Lehtonen, who has seen his starts reduced in the past three seasons, came up big for his team when it needed a big win. However, the team also came up big for Lehtonen.
Dallas took a 5-2 win over the New York Islanders at Barclays Center on Wedensday as Lehtonen made 32 saves to become just the 33rd goalie in NHL history to register 300 wins. He also passed Miikka Kiprusoff for most NHL games played by a Finnish-born goalie.
