Before Gemel Smith's recorded his first two points of the season against Buffalo on Sunday, Stars coach Ken Hitchcock used one word to describe the forward's game.
"Moxie," Hitchcock said.
Smith is appreciative for the compliment from the coach, even if he doesn't know what the word means.
"I asked a couple of the guys," Smith said. "I have no idea to be honest. I'm pretty sure that means something good."
Moxie: vigor; verve; pep. Courage and aggressiveness; nerve.
That type of play is finally paying dividends for the Stars' fourth-round pick from 2012.
