Gritty, playoff-like win over Blues moves Stars into third place for first time in months

Gritty, ugly, grinding playoff hockey.

And they found a way to win a big game.

Ben Bishop made 28 saves and Mattias Janmark and Stephen Johns contributed the goals as Dallas beat the St. Louis Blues, 2-1, at American Airlines Center.

The win moves the Stars to 34-20-4 (72 points) and pushes them ahead of the Blues into third place in the Central Division. St. Louis also has 72 points (34-22-4), but has played two more games than the Stars, so Dallas moves ahead on points percentage.

It's the first time since Nov. 5 the Stars have moved up to third place in the viciously competitive Central Division.
