Goalie Ben Bishop hurt as Stars fall short of 'championship work ethic' in loss to Rangers

NEW YORK -- As the Stars have received inconsistency on offense and injuries on defense, they could rely on their goaltending through the first 20 games. Ben Bishop was an able, at times excellent starter. Anton Khudobin was spectacular when needed, stealing points Dallas didn't otherwise deserve.

During the Stars' 2-1 loss to the Rangers on Monday night at Madison Square Garden, the Stars' goaltending took a hit when Bishop suffered a lower-body injury in the second period and did not return for the third. After the game, Stars coach Jim Montgomery offered a hopeful diagnosis for Bishop, saying he was day-to-day with a soft tissue injury.
