Back in October and November we were making concessions for the Texas Stars' season and looking for ways to view a failed campaign through a positive lens. On the other side of the AHL All Star break, the Stars sit in fourth place in the Central division, good enough for a playoff spot according to my calculations.
The Stars now have the task of holding onto that spot and potentially overtaking Chicago as the third seed. They are well positioned at the moment to keep their collective hands on the steering wheel with two games in hand over the threatenings of Grand Rapids.
