It wasn’t always pretty to watch, but the Dallas Stars managed to beat the Arizona Coyotes 5-4, extending their current winning streak to 3 games. The victory put the Stars over the .500 mark for the season, and the team has a winning record for the first time since October 18th, 2016 (where “winning record” means having more wins than losses, not simply having more points than games played).
The Stars scored a season-high 5 goals while the Coyotes landed 4, so brace yourself for the incoming barrage of highlights.
Derek Stepan notched his first goal in a Coyotes uniform with a tip off of an Oliver Ekman-Larsson shot:
This one was a lot less pretty, as Luke Schenn put the puck in the wrong net:
Stepan wasn’t done for the night, taking advantage of a wide open net for the only goal in the second period:
Stephen Johns put the Stars back in the lead early in the third with this laser:
A few minutes afterwards, Clayton Keller capitalized off of a Jamie Oleksiak mistake and landed a breakaway goal:
Tyler Seguin landed his first of the night less than two minutes later, proving why you should never stop until you hear the whistle:
Okay this one isn’t a goal, but it’s just too cool not to share:
Here’s the second Seguin goal, a laser late in the game that would put the win safely within reach:
