Stars captain Jamie Benn Wednesday missed his first game due to injury since 1993, and will miss his second Saturday.
Benn was placed on IR with a lower body injury after hurting his foot Saturday against the Florida Panthers. Benn was listed as "day to day" Monday, but because the Stars are carrying eight defensemen, Dallas needed to place Benn on IR retroactive to Saturday's game so they could activate Antoine Roussel off of IR. Benn will be eligible to play Monday at Los Angeles if he is healthy.
"It's a chance for someone else to step up," coach Lindy Ruff said.
