The Dallas Stars have acquired Samu Tuomaala from Philadelphia and assigned him to the Texas Stars in exchange for defenseman Christian Kyrou.
Tuomaala is only three games into his third AHL season with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. In his first two seasons in the AHL, Tuomaala posted 26-49=75 in 115 games. The Texas Stars are hoping the 2021 second-round pick will help jump-start their team, which has begun the season on a six-game losing streak. According to eliteprospects.com, Tuomaala is from the same hometown as Texas’ first line center Arttu Hyry.
Christian Kyrou is a 2022 second-round pick by the Dallas Stars.
