For the Dallas Stars and their supporters, hope is running low. This past 2016-17 campaign was to many the single-most disappointing season since their move to Texas 25 years ago, as the Stars went from Central Division champions to Draft Lottery participants in 365 days.
However, things are looking up for the Stars, as a busy off-season will give way to what will hopefully be a very enjoyable season.
The Stars had legendary head coach Ken Hitchcock rejoin the club after 15 years outside of DFW, Dallas miraculously received the third-overall pick in the Draft and also netted an additional first-rounder from the Anaheim Ducks, and the goalie issues have mostly been resolved with the sudden acquisition of elite goaltender Ben Bishop.
