Dallas Stars sign Valeri Nichushkin to a two-year contract

At the 2013 NHL Draft the Dallas Stars watched as a young Russian winger fell. They watched as the Vancouver Canucks traded goaltender Cory Schneider to the New Jersey Devils for pick nine in the draft, but then watched as Vancouver selected center Bo Horvat. The Stars then selected Valeri Nichushkin with the first pick of the Jim Nill era.

Nichushkin came with promise, hit a few snags, and headed home for Russia after the 2016 season. Two years later Nichushkin is officially headed back to North America. Today the Stars and Nichushkin can officially sign a two-year deal worth a reported $2,950,000 per year to bring him back.
