According to the American Cancer Society, there will be nearly 1.7 million new cancer cases diagnosed and approximately 601,000 deaths from cancer this year. It’s a disease that doesn’t discriminate based on gender, or age, or ethnicity, or socioeconomic standing.
Tonight, the Dallas Stars will drop the puck at 7:30 PM CST for their “Hockey Fights Cancer” night. It’s a night where the team partners with local organizations to raise money to support those impacted by cancer.
It’ll be an especially heavy night for the Stars organization, as Dave Strader’s passing from a rare form of cancer earlier this fall still weighs on the heart.
