It was October 13, 2016, and the Dallas Stars were about to embark on a promising and ultimately exciting 2016-17 campaign.
The team had just come off of one of the best seasons in franchise history and had the bar set high. They won the 2015-16 Central Division title, finished first in the Western Conference, and fell one win short of the Western Conference Final.
All in all, things were looking more promising than they had for the Stars in a decade.
But then it happened. What happened, you might ask? Who knows. All we know is that something happened.
