After dominating the Vegas Golden Knights in Game 1, the Dallas Stars were in turn pummeled in Game 2.
It was hard for the Stars to build any momentum during the game, in large part due to an excessive number of well-deserved penalties. Add in some failures in the offensive zone and other areas, and you get a dud of a game:
“Those are self-inflicted problems,” [Rick] Bowness said. “They played a great game, give them a lot of credit, but when you lose that many faceoffs and you take that many penalties, there is no chance you can get any flow to your game.
