Stars prospects Denis Gurianov and Joe Cecconi both turned in impressive performances for their respective countries at the World Juniors. Here’s what Lindy Ruff had to say about Gurianov, who helped Russia take home the bronze:
Gurianov, who is playing with the Texas Stars in the AHL, had seven points (four goals, three assists) in seven games. He scored the game-winning goal in overtime against Sweden in the bronze medal game.
"He initially started slow, but he really finished the tournament right up there at the top on that team," Stars coach Lindy Ruff said.
