The Stars have just five games left in 2016, and Mike Heika says the team’s upcoming lighter schedule could give them time to regroup and rebuild as 2017 gets underway.
But while the Stars earlier in the season would have had to sort it out on a game day and then adjust on the fly, a long home stretch during the holidays is providing a more methodical approach right now. Dallas will play just two home games this week and only six games total over the next 19 days.
It's the perfect chance to rest and rerack for a team that has been scrambling since an injury-filled preseason.
