Thanks in large part to the onslaught of injuries, the Stars’ season hasn’t started quite as expected. Mike Heika chatted with general manager Jim Nill about everything from how younger players have had to step up to the disappointing numbers in net.
Q: Did all of these injuries make you change your plan from what you had laid out in the summer?
Nill: "It doesn't make you change your plan, but you are a different team. The coaches are coaching a different team, so they have to coach it differently. There are not only six players out of the lineup, but we're missing nine to 12 who were out there on a regular basis last year, so then you have to make a lot of adjustments.
