On May 11, 2016, the Dallas Stars played the final game of their 2015-16 campaign. In an embarrassing 6-1 loss in game seven to the St. Louis Blues, their divisional rival, the Stars were officially knocked out of playoff contention.
After a season that built up an extreme amount of both hype and hope, it was disappointing to see Dallas flounder so painfully. The offseason hit, and Stars fans still did not know what to think.
First, the stages of denial settled in. Fans did not believe that their favorite team, the one that had notched 50 wins and 109 points in the regular season, fell into submission as easily as they did when it mattered most.
