Common denominator in Stars' loss to Rangers was what has plagued Dallas all season long

The Stars tried everything to beat New York Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist, including knocking him flat on to the ice.

Nothing worked.

Lundquist returned from a jarring collision with Stars forward Cody Eakin to make 27 stops in a 2-0 victory. It was the Stars' third shutout loss of the season.

The Stars wasted an epic penalty kill in the first period, when they held the Rangers scoreless for more than six minutes with an advantage.

The power play worked against the Stars. They failed to score on five chances and gave up another short-handed goal.
