With Winnipeg on a 5-on-3 power play in the second period, Jamie Benn picked the pocket of Patrik Laine and went in on a shorthanded breakaway. Benn pulled out his best moves and appeared to have Winnipeg goalie Ondrej Pavelec beat. But Pavelec stuck out his right pad and closed the post at the last second to turn Benn away.
