The old adage goes the more things change, the more they stay the same. And for the Dallas Stars this season, that looks like it might be true for one of the most frustrating personnel decisions in the last few years.
A large point of contention over the past two seasons, at least among the fanbase, has been the care and feeding of the Stars defensemen, mostly because the team insisted on carrying eight on the roster rather than making tough decisions about who to trade or send through waivers. Eight defensemen, five of them still relatively inexperienced enough to be considered in their development stages by the end of the season, meant that there was never enough ice time to go around.
