Allen, Texas - The Allen Americans defeated the Tulsa Oilers on Tuesday night 3-2, to win their ECHL Kelly Cup Playoff Round 1, best of seven series, in five games 4-1.
After giving up an early second period power play goal to Tulsa’s Drew Fisher, the Americans would respond with three unanswered. Dyson Stevenson tipped home his first of the post-season, from Patrik Valcak and Kevin Young at the 10:14 mark to tie the score at 1-1. Two minutes later, Ian Schultz would deflect one past Kevin Carr for his first to give Allen a 2-1 lead.
