2020 NHL Entry Draft: Dallas Stars select Rémi Poirier 185th overall

With the 185th overall pick in the 2020 NHL Entry Draft the Dallas Stars selected goaltender Rémi Poirier of the Gatineau Olympiques.

Poirier won the starting goaltender job for Gatineau late in the 2018-19 season, starting for the team in their opening-round playoff loss, and then was their number one last season, with 45 games. He’s a big goaltender at roughly 6-foot-2, and while his .900 save percentage in 2019-20 might not jump off the page, it’s worth mentioning that the QMJHL as a league is very sloppy defensively and Gatineau was one of the worst teams that season.
