LAS VEGAS –Not having Cooper Flagg to lean on Monday afternoon meant the world of difference for the Dallas Mavericks in their summer league game against the Charlotte Hornets.
With Flagg on the bench in street clothes, the Hornets were able to roll to an 87-69 victory over the Mavs at the Thomas & Mack Center. The loss dropped the Mavs to 1-2 heading into Wednesday 7 p.m. CT game against the Philadelphia 76ers.
The No. 1 overall pick in last month’s NBA Draft, Flagg scored 41 points in the Mavs’ first two summer league games, including 31 in an electrifying performance this past Saturday against the San Antonio Spurs.
