The Mavericks will unveil Dennis Smith Jr. to the world tonight as the 2017-18 season opens against the Atlanta Hawks at American Airlines Center.
Emotions are high and expectations are, too. But nobody really knows anything about the Mavericks just yet. Those clues will come during the next hours, weeks and months.
"Look, at this point we got to get the ball thrown up and get going," coach Rick Carlisle said. "Analyzing what may or may not be going through his (Smith's) head, you're trying to play amateur psychologist. It's important to just get this thing started.
