Strong showing should keep momentum rolling, despite outcome

OKLAHOMA CITY – There should be no head-hanging in Maverick-ville today.

Yes, they lost 126-119 late Thursday night at Oklahoma City to a Thunder team that is atop the Western Conference.

The Mavericks were on the second night of a back-to-back. Their best player (Luka Donu010diu0107) was sidelined. Another rotation player (Josh Green) went down for the game in the first quarter.

And yet, the Mavericks pushed the Thunder hard.

In short, they played their tails off.

But what they didn’t do is take care of the basketball. And against what appears to be a legitimately contending team on their court, one slip-up can cost you.
