Sources: Parsons has season-ending surgery

Dallas Mavericks forward Chandler Parsons underwent successful surgery to address the torn meniscus in his right knee Friday morning, sources told ESPN.

Mavs team physician Dr. Daniel Worrel performed the arthroscopic procedure in Dallas, according to sources.

Parsons will miss the remainder of the season but is expected to be able to go through his normal offseason basketball workout routine.

This marks the second consecutive year that Parsons' season ends prematurely because of surgery on his right knee. However, sources told ESPN earlier this week that this injury is not nearly as severe as the cartilage damage he suffered last season that was repaired with a hybrid microfracture procedure on May 1.
